What “Sustainable and scalable” Actually Mean

Everyone (including me!) loves to say that we should all strive for processes that are “sustainable” and “scalable.” But what does that actually mean?

To me, sustainable and scalable processes are those that are designed in a way that allows them to seamlessly continue, even when volume or people change.

There are several key characteristics of these efficient processes. Let's talk about one of my favorites:

💡 An efficient process should be 🌟Self-Serve🌟

In a self-serve process, one person’s organic, day-to-day output (e.g. data) is another person’s input. That input data can then be accessed whenever needed. No special extra reports, chasing people, bottlenecks, or “so-and-so is out this week so I can’t get my work done.”

This allows people to focus on what actually needs their brainpower instead of chasing information.

If you’re curious how to build Self-Serve processes for your business, I’d love to brainstorm.
